ABOUT BRANDO

Hi, I’m Brando.

I'm a Canadian English teacher who loves good conversations.

I've taught thousands of English lessons with adults. I help students share their ideas, speak more naturally and enjoy using English.

In my lessons, we talk about topics that matter to you. You can ask questions, make mistakes and try again. I give clear feedback and help you say what you mean.

BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

A little more about me.

Different interests. Different experiences. Lots to talk about.

I'm from Canada, and I now live in the Philippines. I've traveled to many places, including parts of Europe, South America and Antarctica. I enjoy meeting people, hearing their stories and learning how they see the world.

I love being outdoors, running and trying different sports. I competed in track and field at a national level into my thirties. I also enjoy films, video games and learning about how the world works.

MY BACKGROUND

I've taken a few different paths.

Work and life

Before teaching English, I served in the military, worked in customer service, helped with track and field events and played poker professionally. These experiences taught me a lot about people, patience and working under pressure.

Always learning

I spent time studying chemical engineering and women's and gender studies at university. I didn't finish those programs, but I still enjoy exploring new subjects and asking questions. There's always something new to learn.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Start with curiosity. Keep going, one step at a time.

I believe learning works best when we're interested in what we're doing. We can start with a small step, talk about a subject we enjoy and build from there. Progress doesn't have to be perfect.

I want students to enjoy learning, not just focus on results. When you get stuck, I can help you find your next step. I also enjoy helping other teachers improve and create learning management systems.

LET'S TALK

Have something you'd like to work on?

Whether you want to practice English or improve your teaching systems, I'd be happy to hear from you.
